Check Valves: Silent (Wafer and Globe), Swing Check, Ball Check, Submersible, VFD, Ward, Flapper Style, and Other Check Valves
Check valves are mechanical devices that permit liquids and gases to flow in only one direction, preventing flow from reversing. They are classified as one-way directional valves meaning they have two openings in the body, one for fluid to enter and the other for fluid to leave. Fluid flow in the desired direction opens the valve, while backflow forces the valve closed.
The mechanics of check valve operation are simple and work automatically to stop the fluid from flowing in the wrong direction. Flomatic® offers many types of check valves for a broad range of configurations, functionality types, sizes and material construction for residential, commercial, process industries and utilities.
Check valves have a cracking design pressure which is the minimum pressure upstream required to open or operate. Customers can carefully match application requirements thru many different type of valves.
Most Flomatic® check valves are designed with typically less than 1 PSI of cracking pressure to operate but we can provide a range of cracking pressures if needed, consult factory.
