Lovely motor though!
1. No on/off switch - must be unplugged to turn it off.
2. Inconsistent directions. Leaflet says, essentially, turn it on and it works but the pump itself had a sticker about filling it with water before starting.
3. Unclear direction. Do I lubricate it only the first time? Every use? Occasionally?
4. No auto shut off if run without water. That means I need to stay alert when emptying the hot tub, or I will burn it out.
5. On the noisy side

It moves water fast, I clocked it around 4.2 gallons per minute using the included water suction attachment.
I should move more water without the attachment.
I like the water suction attachment, since I could move water that might have debris (leaves).
It was a little bit of a challenge to follow the steps without having a third hand.
I place the pump on a side, with the intake up, and put a little bit of vegetable oil.
Then I connected the intake hose, filed with water, connected the water suction attachment. and submerged it while plugging the power cable into an outlet.
Make sure to place the included rubber washer into the included green hose.
I like the extra parts included (impeller replacement kit), so we could replace it when they wear out.
I would be helpful to have power switch, since you need three hands to operate this pump. Two hands to plug and unplug and one to keep water on the hose so it doesn't run dry.
The handle is very flimsy, it did bend when I picked up the pump.
I suggest securing the pump to a heavier object (like a piece of 2x6 lumber), it will be even quieter (less vibration.)

Just remember to put a little vegetable oil in the inlet to lube the impeller before first use and or when after the pump is drained and dry. When the pump is off but kept setup and not drained the residual water will nullify the need for the vegetable oil when next used.
Pump self primes itself within 30 seconds.
In the end, I wound up with a larger FluentPower 1HP water transfer pump. It moves far more water, and is really quite quiet - though it's about 6 times the size, physically. I can barely hear it in the shed from the deck, 15' away. That route worked much better for me - well worth the extra $30 or so it cost.
