SunGrow Aquarium Vacuum Gravel & Sand Cleaner Pump Kit

I use it in my five gallon Betta tank. It works fine. I’ve use it twice and I haven’t had any problems. Water comes out fast so I just pinch it off so I have better control. It has a trap so gravel and betta won’t get sucked up. I use those marble pebbles in his tank, so it’s a little harder to move around but that’s not t he vacuums fault. I didn’t give it a five star, simply because I’ve only used it twice. I’m happy so far.

I got this to help get the water out of my aquatic turtle’s tank to clean. It saves me so much time and is very efficient at sucking the water out. I have arthritic hands and the pump was not hard to work at all. It’s a great help!

It works well, but will suck up the sand and gravel too, even with the grate on the end. So i just stir up the gravel before using the hose to drain out the dirty water.

This gravel pump is so easy to use and does just the trick. As long as you place the exit end below the tank, gravity will do all of the work for you, and you’ll only need to pump once or twice.

I bought the first one of these last July. I used it on two different tanks meaning it got used every week. After a fin rot infection in one of the tanks, it got used 2-3 times per week (until the antibiotic showed up so that I could treat the tank). That original cleaner pump kit saw an awful lot of action. The nozzle broke off from the tube last week. So, I bought another which is on its way. Overall, if I hadn't been happy to some extent with this product, I wouldn't have gotten another. It works. But there does seem to be a design flaw with the connection between the nozzle and tube - it's weak and I suspect that I'll probably be buying another before next summer.

I used to manually scoop out water from my tank during a routine water change. It was far from efficient, messy, and pretty stressful for my fish. I am delighted with this purchase because I do not anymore dread maintaining my tank. I didn’t have a hard time assembling this manual hand pump, and it only took me around 5-6 squeezes until it started sucking up water. The attached netted nozzle at the end of the hose allows me to drain the dirty water without sucking up the substrates. However, I like how it effectively takes away excess leftover food and fish waste, and now my tank doesn’t have an unpleasant odor. Bought this to do partials on my 3 small tanks. First it siphoned too fast, then it quit siphoning at all. Couldn't even finish, had to go back to using a piece of tubing to change water.

This was great at sucking up debris! It does suck a lot of water out. Almost enough to have a complete water change.

Must have item. Cuts the usual time cleaning and draining tank in half.
